HB770 Antique Dining Cabinet

Early 1900’s dining room cabinet, appears to be a portion of a sideboard in which two cabinets flanked a long sideboard serving table (other side has sold). Made by the Johnson Bros Cabinetmakers Co. est. 1903 from Grand Rapids, MI. This is an exceptional solid wood quality piece with what appears to be redwood, both burled and natural. It has an interesting design with three interior quarter sawn oak storage drawers typically used to store silverware, napkins, linens, etc. The cupboard portion would have stacks of dishes and silver pieces and the top drawer other delicate pieces. It has the original fabric covered platform that protects the drawer. The front of the cabinet is decorated with ornate carvings and appliqués featuring cascading ribbon and flowers and a sunburst centre. Don’t let the historic use limit you though! It would be fantastic as a bathroom storage cabinet, ladies accessories, or a stunning decorative entryway piece with a giant flower arrangement on the top.
